My name is Billy B Baker. I have been selling real estate under the "United" banner since 1975. My ties with United Country (originally United Farm Agency) go back over 90 years to my great grandfather, F.J King, who was the second office to sign up with our company's founder, Roscoe L. Chamberlain.
I have been in Yellville, AR/ Marion County since 1978 and man, what a wonderful 40 years it has been!! Here in this Ozark Mountain region we really do have a very pleasant place to live-- the scenic views of our hills and valleys along with the crystal clear rivers, creeks, springs and beautiful lakes are all beyond description. This along with the fact we have a long growing season and annual rainfall average of 50 inches affords us the opportunity to grow a good variety of fruits, berries, and garden vegetables making it very easy to put into effect a live-at-home program producing on your own acreage most all of the necessities of life. But best of all is the good "down home" quality of people living in this area!!! We are willing, waiting and ready to show you a piece of the "OZARK MOUNTAIN HEAVEN" that you will be able to call your own. Call, email or come by and see us real soon.
During a 26 year career as an engineering officer in the US Merchant Marine I had opportunity to visit 53 countries and many of the contiguous United States plus Hawaii and Alaska. I did not find any place that I would prefer to live year around more than these Ozark hills here in Marion County Arkansas. Let me show you some land while I tell you about the rivers and lakes as well as the cavern systems and thousands of acres of public forest for hiking and exploring.
I like the four seasons we have and what each new season has to share like wild mushroom gathering in spring and especially fall, a variety of hunting and fishing experiences, and gardening. My wife and I are avid gardeners (met as vendors at Yellville’s own farmer’s market) and grow most of our meat as well. We take satisfaction in knowing we have access to healthy food and practice living close to the land by canning and drying a lot of our surplus vegetables and even meat. We supplement the food we raise from the abundant variety of game and fish found here through hunting, fishing and wild harvesting.
I am a graduate of the Arkansas Master Naturalist program and have a fascination for the rocks and minerals here as well as the flora and fauna. It is hard to beat an afternoon wading up one of the many clear, gravel or rock bottomed creeks in the area looking to see what is under the next rock or in the next deep pool or growing alongside the cool water.
I built my own house here in 1996 and live in it now. I lived off the grid for 3 years and have an interest in things pertaining to alternative energy.
Let me show you some houses or just raw land and share my knowledge of the area and my love for it. You will see why this is where I set roots over 25 years ago and have raised my children here.

I am a retired class of 1960 USNA, Vietnam vet carrier aviator. I picked this part of Arkansas because aircraft carriers can't navigate the White or Buffalo Rivers. If you love to fish, hunt, and enjoy scenic beauty with GOOD people - This is the place to be. Looking forward to talking with you.
